ADHD Assessments
Children
To book your child (aged 6-17) to see Dr Craig Richards for ADHD assessment or ongoing stimulant prescribing for ADHD, please either
1. Upload a copy of the most recent letter from your child's paediatrician or psychiatrist both listing ADHD as a diagnosis and any current medication doses
OR
2. Complete this online assessment, and either
a) Upload a copy of a previous ADHD assessment performed by a psychologist , or
b) Upload a copy of a ADHD Questionnaire completed by yourself and your child's teacher in the past 6 months, or
c) Print and complete the Parent ADHD Initial Questionnaire and ask your child's teacher to complete the Teacher ADHD Initial Questionnaire, then upload both questionnaires
3. Call reception to organise an appointment time
The process involves:
Week 1: Initial appointment with Dr Richards
Week 3: Follow-up appointment with Dr Richards and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist Dr Ian McCracken. Commence trial of short acting stimulant medication
Week 7: Follow-up appointment with Dr Richards to assess effectiveness & side-effects of immediate release stimulant medication. Commence trial of long-acting stimulant medication.
Week 11: Follow-up appointment with Dr Richards to assess effectiveness & side effects of slow release stimulant medication
Ongoing follow-up
6 monthly appointment with Dr Richards (& 12 monthly review with Dr McCracken as required)
