About us
We are passionate about preparing women for successful breastfeeding during the antenatal period and addressing any post-natal breastfeeding difficulties that may arise. We understand that these solutions need to be judgement free, sensitive to the needs of both women and their babies and take into account the needs of the broader family. Breastfeeding is a wonderful way to nourish and bond with your baby but equally we understand that exclusive breastfeeding might not be best the answer for you
Services
Lets face it- trying to retain new information and learn new skills during the newborn period is not easy when you are seriously sleep deprived, have sore breasts, an unsettled baby and feel like you just want to cry.
To assist we offer both clinic appointments and a home-visiting service to women in Newcastle, East Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Lower Hunter.
Breastfeeding consultations
Painful nipples, sore breasts/mastitis, concerns about supply and an unsettled baby are all common concerns during the first four weeks of your baby's life. Lets work together and come up with simple time efficient solutions that work for you and your baby. There are no one size fits all solutions. Breastfeeding is natural but so is walking and look how long it took you to master that one!
Antenatal breastfeeding educationBreastfeeding education during pregnancy, pre-identification of any issues (eg previous bad experiences, breast implants, past or current nipple piercing) and having a plan of how to prevent and manage these problems is a smart move and a recipe for a happy mum and a happy baby.
